BIO: Hello! I'm Mason! I am a lovable smooth doxie with fur smooth as velvet! I love to sniff my way around, being blind doesn't stop me from exploring the world! I walk great on a leash, and just need to be warned if something is in my way. I love to keeps laps warm, and sleep next to people. I love treat time too! I am potty trained, and get used to my surroundings very quick. I love to love people, and love to be loved! Mason was rescued from another rescue that had to close down. He is incredibly sweet and loving. He gets along with everyone, and every dog. He just likes to know that someone is going to pet him before being picked up. He shares well with others, and is one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever met. He would do great in a home with older kids, since he does need some warning before picking him up since he is blind. But he is one of the sweetest and softest guys ever. He has so much love to give.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about Mason...CA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
