BIO: Marley is one chilled little guy! He has the most laid-back, loving temperament and he gets along with everybody he meets. He loves following you around the house, wagging his tail the entire time. Marley likes to sleep in the big bed. He has not had an accident in the house and will let you know from time to time when he needs to go potty. About the only thing that his foster dad has noticed is that he is a bit of a finicky eater. He does not like carrots or green beans. Marley is a little reluctant to eat the kibble that came with him (he needs to lose just a pound or so and is presently on some “diet” kibble). His foster dad has been putting some of the True-Dog Boost on his food and that has been enticing him to eat. Other than that, he is a wonderful dog!
Marley came into rescue because he and a toddler did not quite get along. This is why we are saying that Marley needs to be in a house with adults or with older children who know how to treat a laid-back senior dog.
Could you be that special family to give this sweet wonderful dog his forever home? You will not regret it. Marley is wonderful!!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
