BIO:

Hope is a shy girl with a big heart. She loves to snuggle and will be more than content on being a lap dog. She stays pretty close until she’s comfortable in her surroundings, and then she wants to see what’s going on. If you let this little girl into your heart, you will never be alone!

Hope’s mom was pregnant and sought shelter under an old shed. The landowner kept note and monitored her situation as best he could. As soon as she gave birth, he turned her and her pups over to the shelter so they could be out of the elements. AADR got them from there and they are now almost ready for adoption. They just need to get their second shots in a few weeks and they’ll be all set to go to their forever home!

The puppies will be getting their 2nd set of shots on Nov. 24th.  They will be available to pick up the weekend of Nov. 25th or can be transported the weekend of Dec. 2nd if you have been approved, the contract signed, and the adoption fee paid. If you are unable to take a puppy at that time, we cannot hold one.

More about Hope in IN (Dachshund mix)

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
