BIO:

Hi!!  My name is Preston!  I was found, for sale on Facebook, by an AADR foster mom and she rescued me.  Evidently, the lady who had me for sale really didn’t know much about me!! Cause, I am a really cool dude!

Although I don’t know a life beyond puppyhood, I am learning and experiencing many things in my new foster home.   I want a family that wants to hold and comfort me as they continue to help me learn the basic things about being a dog.   I am affectionate and love to cuddle on your lap whenever possible.   I love treats and am food motivated.  I have no food/fear aggressions, no submissive urination, nor separation anxiety.  I am a little skittish at first with men.

I have been with my new “Foster Mom” since August 5th.  I have learned to sit and wait when dinner is ready.  I get so excited – I do spins around the room.  I never realized how much fun eating could be!  Every evening when the sun goes down, my Foster Mommy lets me cuddle on her lap with the others and snuggle in the warm blankets (ummm . . . this feels so good and I know I am safe).   I like taking naps on the rug or in the open crate or while I am being held and cuddled.  I sleep, very quietly, in a crate all by myself.  I don’t mind at all.

I am looking for my forever home; a family who will give me lots of love, take me for walks, cuddle and play with me, and will always keep me safe.  I need a family who is patient, will help me learn my social skills, and teach me all the “doggie” things I need to learn.   I sure would like my FOREVER HOME to be FOREVER!  I will be checking the applications so only serious applicants need apply.

I will do my best in a home with lots of people around me, a fenced yard, and another four-legged friend to keep me company when you are at work or not at home.  Open up your heart and home to this little guy (Me!!) who will love you and be your BEST FRIEND FOREVER!

If you’ve got questions, please contact my foster mom, Cherie at cherie554ever@gmail.com

More about Preston......TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
