BIO (8/23/16): Honor arrived in her foster home last week, and her foster dad wanted to get her posted on the AADR website pronto since this precious little girl is so adoptable and deserves a forever home NOW!   Honor is oh, so-o-o TINY ... oh, so-o-o cute ... and oh, so-o-o loveable!  She is a little scared at noises she doesn't know, at the moment, but that's very understandable.

This pup came to our attention after being dumped with her 3 babies at a shelter.  We saved all of them and they are now with AADR waiting to be adopted.  Honor now can have a great life, but only if she approves you.

Honor is very sweet and very loving.  She found her way to a group of pillows above my head the first night she was here and made herself a small den to sleep in.  It was the cutest thing.  She began to play with my home dog Coco the second day, which is giving her much more confidence.  For having been through such a terrible time and having pups so young, she is making a wonderful recovery to normalcy.  This pup is special and will not go to just anyone. So, if you love these special pups as I do, please apply. You will not be sorry.

Honor was transported by car over 16 hours to Florida.  AADR is hoping to find her a forever home here in FL since she does not need another long transport any time soon.  And, being so small, she needs to stay in a warmer climate year round, too.  Her adopter must be willing to continue with Honor's socialization skills and her house-training.  She is the size of a puppy and like a puppy is still a “work in progress.  She however, does bond rapidly and knows she is loved.  We would like to see her placed soon so that she can settle in a forever home…forever.

Please contact foster Dad (Matt) if you need any further information or better yet want to adopt this precious gift of life drop him a note at doxieforeverhome@gmail.com .  If you are interested in adopting, fill out an application from the left hand column on our AADR website: allamericandachshundrescue.org.

More about Honor ....FL

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
