MINNIE thinks she's all that and a bag of chips until you pick her up that is then she's the helpless little princess. She loves to chase your fingers to play and can tuck easily in the crook of your arm to snuggle. She also likes to pose for the camera and we have been trying out different shots here. MINNIE is used to animals of all sizes but will do best in a home without larger animals as he is so small. She loves to play and romp with her brother MICKEY and they pounce all over their enclosure. When it is bedtime they go into the crate on their own and will also use the pee pad (most of the time). They are eating solid food now too. Mickey and Minnie need a wonderful home that will be able to provide them warm comforts and pampering.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If going by ground transport, the adopter is responsible for an additional fee of $25 for the required Health Certificate to cross state lines. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
