BIO:
Do not overlook this gem of a dog. He was well loved by his previous owner. He is warm, cuddly, and eager to join in on whatever fun is happening. If you want to watch TV, he will be there. Need to study? He will provide emotional support. Want to go for a walk? You don’t have to ask him twice. Need a bed warmer? He’s your man. He has an advanced degree in rest, relaxation and recreation. He learned a cute trick somewhere. He will get in your lap and pretend he is going to kiss you, oh but wait….. he slowly falls over into your arm so in case you were thinking of rubbing his stomach, there it is. Knowing him as I do for this short time, I am sure he is doing this for altruistic reasons because his foster parents are on blood pressure medicine and what could be better for lowering blood pressure than tummy rubbing.
Jake is equally comfortable with men and women. We believe he also would be great with older kids. He gets along with male and female dogs equally. He is fostering with 2 male and one female dachshund, a mixed breed male, a female Pomeranian and a female Yorkshire terrier.
Please consider him. You will be blessed with many years of happiness with this magnificent little guy.
Jake Jake Jake so sad he lost his mom, you can tell he misses her the way he clings to his foster mom. Sadly his mom passed and the family put him and the other dachshund that was hers outside. After 6 mos they finally came to their senses and asked rescue to take him and her, Abby. They came from Middle TN and he is ready for love. Jake will be shy at first but it doesn’t take him long to warm up and know that YOU will be his new mom or daddy. He so desperately wants love and he’s doing very well at getting acquainted back with housebreaking after being outside for 6 mos. He LOVES to sleep in the big bed and would do well with another companion when you are gone. Male or female it doesn’t matter he gets along with both.
If you are looking for a calm boy that just wants to sit with you and give you adoring looks then Jake is the man for you. Please consider him, he’d love a fenced yard too!
