BIO:
Hi out there world my name is Hope. I was set out at some ones house because my owners no longer wanted me. The nice people called ADDR and they came to my rescue. They got me all checked out by the vet and I got a clean bill of health, except I lost a couple of teeth when I had my dental. I have a scar on my back and no tail, the rescue thinks that I may have been attacked by a dog when I was younger because the scar is an old one. Foster Mommy says that my scar and no tail doesn’t keep me from being a cutie pie.
Now let me tell you about myself, I am a real sweetheart! I am leashed trained and I bark to let you know when I need to go outside. No potting in the house for me. I love to play with doggie toys, now on this subject I am a little destructive. I love to pull the stuffing out of the toys. This is no big deal Foster Mommy just takes all the stuffing out and gives the toy back to me. I love to play with my foster sisters there are four, 2 of them are doxies that I love to sleep with in the crate at night. It would be nice if my forever home had another dog for me to pal around with and sleep with. It would be great if the yard was fenced in so that I could run around outside and to keep me safe. Younger kids will be fine as long as they know how to handle a small dog.
I am looking for my furever home, a place where I will be loved, taken care of and protected. Please consider me as your next fur baby, I promise to love you unconditionally.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
