BIO:

Ginger is a wonderful girl. She is a true standard which give her more stability than the mini’s. She gets along great with other dogs, loves lap time and is just all round a happy happy girl.

She is potty trained but best to keep her on a schedule. She is crate trained but the crate is not her favorite past time so limited time is best to keep her happy. She is very food motivated so that helps.

If you are a first time dachshund owner and looking for a great first dog then you really can’t go wrong with Ginger. She would be better with another dog or someone that’s home most of the time.

More about Ginger #7..WV

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
