Being foster in Buffalo, NY

Hi, my name is Honey my foster mommy says I am a doll. I just love my human foster brother and am very good with him I let him hug and kiss me and I even kiss him back. It takes me a little bit to get to know you - I just have to make sure you are worthy then when I see that you are I am all yours. I just love to give kisses and have my belly rubbed. I also love to sleep in the big bed. I have to be adopted with my brother Rusty because he is my best friend. My foster mommy said he is very sweet also. They call us a “bonded pair.” We have been through a lot together he and I. Our former owners locked us in a bathroom and neglected us. Despite all that, I am a pretty calm girl and I love to relax with you. I do still have plenty of time to run and play with the other fur babies here after I relax. I do tend to bark when the other dogs have something I want. If you are looking for sweet and calm lap dogs Rusty and I are for you. Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
