HONEY was turned in by her owner due to Cancer in the family. It broke the owners heart but she couldn't deal with her mom having cancer and caring for her in another state and her husband having cancer as well. We agreed to take HONEY3 and find her a wonderful home. HONEY3 is as sweet as can be. Loves to snuggle up next to you or just be a couch potato while you work on your computer or watch TV. She's not into playing much with the other fosters but is happier being with her foster mom or daddy. We think HONEY3 would do ok with children over 10 as long as they know how to treat animals well and with respect. WE don't know about cats. She is fine with male and female dogs. She also appears to be housebroken but will have a few accidents until she learns your schedule. If you are interested in giving HONEY3 the home she deserves please do fill out an app today so we can start the process to get her into your home.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
