BIO:  This beautiful, loving dog was rescued from a puppy mill along with some of her siblings.  Precious is extremely sweet and her personality definitely matches her name.  She enjoys the company of both men and women as well as other dogs.  She walks well on a leash after only a few days and she looks forward to  our walks each morning and evening.  She also loves a lap and she will curl up for as long as you are willing to sit with her.  Although a picky eater, she enjoys her treats.  She will sleep in a crate without protest.  Although a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and she will give you lots of love and kisses.  She has the most beautiful blue and brown eyes and a small kink at the very tip of her tail.  We are working on the potty training and she is coming along nicely as long as she has a reminder when it is time to go out.  Precious is looking forward to a forever home with someone who will love her just as much as she loves them.  She is hopeful that you might be the one to provide her with that special home.

You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
