BIO:

Romeo came in with the Dandy, Cutie and Jelly Bean from a breeder/hoarder situation. He is a very mellow kind of guy, very friendly wants to be a lap dog. Loves to be out in the fenced in yard. Has not learned how to play yet but we are sure that will come. Very happy and friendly. Doing well with dog door and going outside. Loves to sleep in the couch which we are sure that is a luxury he never had before. These are not your typical puppymill dogs. They have all been socialized and are friendly to everyone. He would do well with another dog or alone so he can soak up all the attention. We say no to kids and cats only because they have not been tested around them. Please give these babies a chance at a new life and adopt ONE!!

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about ROMEO...NY

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
