Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

NOW for the good news..........
What can I say about Ginger……..She is the most
well
mannered doxie I have had the pleasure of fostering in quite a while.
She is a
perfect little princess!
Ginger came to us as a stray, and I just can’t
figure out for the
life of me how anyone could let this little angel get away. She is
completely
housetrained to a doggie door, she is great with all my other dogs (big
&
small), she is great with my cats, loves my kids, and generally just
wants to
please all the time. Ginger also loves to go swimming! She went with our
family
on a river outing and just loves to play in the water. She loves to be
beside
you all the time and go wherever you are. We feel that she would be
best
suited in a home with another doggie companion because she loves the
company of
her foster brothers & sisters. As a typical doxie does, she does
tend to
bark when she hears any noise out of the ordinary but we are working to
correct
this.
If you feel you can give Ginger the best
forever home out there please
fill out an adoption application and her foster home will be in touch.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
