BIO:

Emmy loves walks and playing with stuffed toys. She hopes you take the time to get to know her- so she may show you how she can sitting up and beg for attention by waving her front paws at you. She has adorable freckles and a cowlick that looks like a Mohawk. She promises that she is working on her house manners and says if you put your leather items up high she promises not to chew them- they are just so delicious! Emmy is young and has so much love and energy to share that she hopes someone who is home a lot can give her a chance to get to know them. Emmy cannot go to a home with cats.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
