FOSTER HOME - Melbourne, Florida (e-mail) littlebit129@yahoo.com

Gizmo was a surrender from the local pound. He was heartworm positive and is currently being treated for heartworm disease. In spite of that he is doing wonderfully well. He is a happy little guy that loves attention. He greats you happily all the time with a big tail wagging. He is wonderful on a leash and loves to go on long walks in the park. At night he sits in your lap and doses while you read or watch tv. He is a very active doxie because he is so young, but he very willingly curls up in your lap for a snooze without having to be asked twice. Gizmo is fully housebroken and has been an inside dog before he came to us. He plays very well with all his foster brothers and sisters. I don’t know about cats because I don’t have any here. Since he is undergoing heartworm treatment right now, he will be available in January 2010 for adoption.

Please give him a New Year Present and a forever gift at a new chance on life with you. I promise, you won’t be sorry you did. He is a great little guy.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application

More about GIZMO....FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
