BIO: Hondo was a well loved dog but his family did not have time for him.He is such a wonderful dog.Hondo is AKC certified. He loves to have his belly rubbed and wants to sit with you.He really enjoys sleeping in the big bed and hates the kennel. He is a great companion and will follow you to make sure you are okay.He does pull when he is on a leash because he didn’t get a lot of walking time before but at his foster home, he is learning how to be a better walking partner. He really loves a house that has a doggy door so he can go outside and lay in the sun or just smell everything. He does really well with other dogs and would do great in a home where he has someone to play with.He needs to lose about 4 pounds but is working on that!!Hondo is a great man dog – he prefers men over women but will also give love to a woman!Hondo deserves a great home that has the time for him.Can you give him that home?
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about Hondo...SC
Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
