About HONEY...TN

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
Dachshund .............. Pure/Tweenie Coat ........................... Smooth Color ......................... Red Age ............................. 2 years Weight ....................... 12 lbs Adoption fee .................... $250.00 + $10.00 chip fee Contact ........................ braden01@bellsouth.net This is Honey. Honey came to us from a shelter in Alabama. She was picked up as a stray. Since she was picked up as a stray then we do not know much about her past. We do know however that it must not have been a good one. We have had Honey since 10-09-04 and we are still working on putting some weight on her because she came in very underweight. Despite her past she is a very loving doxie. She gets along with kids, cats, and loves playing with other dogs. She just wants to be loved on all the time. She has also come out of her shell since she has been rescued. She LOVES to play!!! But once she is done playing she just wants to curl beside & wants her belly rubbed! Honey does not know a stranger. Honey is UTD on all her shots, she is spayed, and on Frontline & Interceptor. If you feel you can provide honey with a loving home please fill out an adoption application with her name on it. Out of state adoptions are welcome. A home visit is required.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
