When you adopt 1 you save 2. The one you adopt and the one you make room for!

Hi!  We’re Robbie and Callie the Wirehair Dachshund duo!  We’ve been together since we were found on the side of a busy road in Hopkinsville Kentucky.   We’re fun-loving, playful puppies who love to play with kids and other dogs.   I, Callie love to sit in your lap (lots of kisses and cuddling), play with toys and romp around.  My brother Robbie also loves to play and romp around but lays down only after he has exhausted himself with playing (he also loves to eat…a lot J).  We’re growing by the day and would love to bring joy and happiness to your home and family.  We are working very hard at becoming fully potty trained and are at least 90% there (an occasional accident at night on the mat…but we’re puppies and we’re learning).  Robbie and I have grown very, very close during our time together and want to be adopted as a family.  They will be able to  go to there forever home in a month(after june 1st)when they have there spay/neuter.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
