HANS was listed on a list for free and being unaltered a volunteer for a shelter knew this was not a good thing for this boy. She contracted the people that put him on the list and they surrendered him and his brother to her. He was then safe. She got him completely vetted for us and turn him over to us to find a home where he won't be put on a list for free and up to chance. Hans is a sweet sweet boy, loves his foster mom and foster dad is ok. He would do better with another female dachshund to play with. He is working on his housetraining and is almost there so a strict schedule will work for him. He loves to sleep in the big bed and will cuddle up with you all night long. He will warn you when strangers come to the door. He is UTD on all shots, heartworm tested, negative, and been recently neutered. Please consider giving this handsome boy a forever home.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about HANS...TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
