BIO:  This precious boy was surrendered to AADR because his family could not deal with his disabilities.  Gizmo is completely deaf and has poor vision in his left eye.  But his disabilities don’t slow this puppy down one bit!  He is full of energy and acts like a normal puppy.  He plays hard for a few minutes and than takes a nap.  His foster family would really like to place him in a home in SC but would consider any loving and caring applicants that have experience with deaf animals.  Gizmo is so young and very trainable... please consider giving this special little guy a home!

More about Gizmo #3 in PA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Needs special care

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
